McDonald's Malaysia Official Handover Ceremony of Corporate Zakat to Zakat Melaka - Majlis Agama Islam Melaka (MAIM)
Honouring and praising with all due appreciation and gratefulness for this year’s business development, McDonald's Malaysia has once again helped communities in Melaka by presenting their corporate zakat amounting to RM180,000 to Zakat Melaka – Majlis Agama Islam Melaka (MAIM), recently on 17 May 2022 at Kompleks Anak Yatim Fatimah Al-Zaharah in Bukit Katil.
What is Zakat and why is it important?
As one of the pillars of Islam, a Zakat is a form of obligatory charity that has the potential to ease the suffering of millions. It relates to cleanliness, growth, blessing and praise. This form of charity helps to purify your wealth, increases blessings in your life and gains you much reward. Zakat is an obligatory tax on every Muslim designed to help the poor and empower communities. With the literal meaning of the word being 'to cleanse,' Muslims believe that paying zakat purifies, increases and blesses the remainder of their wealthYou must know that McDonald's Malaysia is now owned by Muslim shareholders and investors, and as a fully Muslim-owned company, McDonald’s Malaysia is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities to contribute to its annual corporate zakat.
