When is Hari Raya Haji?
Hari Raya Haji (Eid Al-Adha) falls on the 10th day of the month of Dzulhijjah, the last month of the Muslim calendar, and marks the conclusion of the annual Haj - the pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.

History of Hari Raya Haji
This festival is celebrated throughout the Muslim world as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God, including the life of his own son Ishmael.Korban is the most important part of Hari Raya Haji and all Muslims who can afford to participate are encouraged to carry it out. Korban is when Muslims purchase an animal to be sacrificed in the direction of the Kaaba. The animal will then be cleaned and cut up.
This act reminds worshippers of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to offer up even his own flesh and blood to God.
The meat will typically be shared with the needy or with people in the community as it is an act of sacrifice and giving.
As a result of this special occasion, many poor Muslims are able to enjoy the unusual luxury of eating meat during the four days of this festival.
In keeping with the tradition of 'Eid, local Muslims will dress up in new or special clothes, visit friends and relatives, hold 'Eid gatherings and parties as well as give gifts to their children.

Al-Kausar Ayat 2
فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْۗ .
Maka laksanakanlah salat karena Tuhanmu, dan berkurbanlah (sebagai ibadah dan mendekatkan diri kepada Allah).
So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone FOR THANKFULNESS].
In conjunction with this, AEON has introduced the Blessing of Sacrifice or 'Berkat Korban' in 2020 and 2021 where it has facilitated Muslims to perform their 'Korban' service during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
And this year, AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON) continues its efforts to provide facilities to Muslims who want to perform 'Korban' service this year by bringing back the "Berkat Korban 2022".
The Berkat Korban 2022 initiative is in line with AEON's efforts to advocate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure all people enjoy peace and prosperity and provide awareness of every development. Must be balanced with social, economic and environmental sustainability.
The 'BERKAT KORBAN 2022' will be implemented at all AEON, AEON BiG and MaxValu branches.
And this year, AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON) continues its efforts to provide facilities to Muslims who want to perform 'Korban' service this year by bringing back the "Berkat Korban 2022".
This year is the third year that AEON has implemented the Berkat Korban program which has received good responses from various parties before. For Berkat Korban 2022, AEON collaborated with Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (YIDE), Koperasi Kelab Generasi Transformasi Ruminan Malaysia Berhad (Koperasi GTR) and Townfarm.
According to Dr Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi, Chief Human Resource Officer and Director of Corporate Communications of AEON,
“We are very grateful to be able to once again fulfil the Berkat Korban program this year. On the encouraging response received previously, we feel a responsibility to continue to provide this service to Muslims. This program will facilitate their affairs where the order of sacrificial meat only needs to be done via phone call or online.
“AEON is the first shopping mall branch in Malaysia to introduce such a program. All 'Korban' meat will go through a strict SOP process and Shariah-compliant in ensuring that the Muslims who participate can perform the worship properly, ”he added.
The 'BERKAT KORBAN 2022' program provides two categories of sacrificial animals, mainly cows and goats. A cow weighing 210kg to 250kg will be divided into seven (7) parts, the price set for one part is RM880. While the price of a goat weighing 28kg to 30kg is RM1,200.
This price is the same for those who wish to donate their share of the sacrifice to the Asnaf. AEON is targeting 1,000 cows and 200 goats for the program.
Every sacrifice of frozen meats will be packed into a carton box with 1kg packets each inside to be distributed to or self-collect by the respective agencies to the allocated Asnafs and so on. The distribution of the meats will be assigned to all branches.
AEON also introduced Ustaz Don Daniyal Don Biyajid as the icon of Berkat Korban 2022.
“I am grateful to be able to work with AEON for the Berkat Korban 2022 program. Apart from strengthening the 'ukhwah' and 'silaturahim' of every society as well as being able to perform ibadah for themselves and inflicted on the needy, this effort can help the economic generation of local farmers and small farmers.Alhamdulillah, every slaughtering and processing work is also done in a controlled environment to ensure that the slaughter results are shariah-compliant, clean and of high quality in line with halal toyibban. said Ustaz Don Daniyal
The 'BERKAT KORBAN 2022' will be implemented at all AEON, AEON BiG and MaxValu branches.
