Hey All 💜

You know yours truly really love every kind of Halal cuisine that's available anywhere in the world.  And the truth is I haven't had the chance to even try my own Malaysian Sarawak cuisines yet. When the opportunity came, I know I have to bust a gut and endeavour the possibility at Kafe Sarawak Johor when a close friend invited me to try out. 

This hidden gem is located around the river bay of PWTC, Kafe Sarawak Johor, opposite Bistari Condominium. It's quite a hidden location, so you must slow down while you're there to spot the place. It's easier for you to choose 'D'sungai Cafe' in your location trackers.  You have to go down the stairs to see the cafe. I've just learned that this is their second cafe opening from the 1st cafe at Damansara Perdana. 

Once there, I am really mesmerised by the scenery and obviously, there are places for you to take amazing photos too. 

Following up on its theme East Meets West "Delicious, Affordable, Community" Kafe Sarawak Johor offers original authentic food from Sawarak and Johore. 

For Sarawak, there's Mee Kolo, Fried Mee Kolo, Laksa Sarawak and Pinjaram also known as Kuih Penyaram, a traditional kuih for the Bajau. I've never tried these before except for the Pinjaram. 

As for Johore, there's Soto, Lontong , Ikan Cencaru Sambal Terutuk, & Asam Pedas Chicken. 

There's also Roti Jala, Dalca, Sup Tulang, Sate, Ulam, Bubur Of The Day, and other kuih available. 

My Review 

I've never tried Laksa Sarawak or Mee Kolo before and after the 1st time, I would say I'm amazed at how I've not tried this heavenly food before. The Laksa Sarawak is so different from the other Laksa for sure. It uses Meehoon and the broth is totally scrumptious. Well-seasoned with all the garnishings and condiments. A 5 star for me! 

The Mee Kolo, paired with beef and their signature soy sauce condiments really compliment each other completely. But to choose between the Mee Kolo and the fried Mee Kolo, I'd go for the Fried Mee Kolo. I'm actually not really into broth soups but I can still enjoy the Mee Kolo occasionally though. That's my own opinion. Maybe you'd love it as much. The broth is rich, savoury and delightful but not quite my palate taste I guess. So yeah, we stick to Fried Mee Kolo and Laksa Sarawak for now 😋

I relished the Lontong so much, that I went for seconds. 😁 The Soto was also on point! The broth was packed with spices and the additional condiments made it taste so heavenly and exquisite. The Asam Pedas Chicken, if you like Asam Pedas. You must try this for sure. The delicate taste of the Asam Pedas with the tender chicken that slides off easily knows that it was well-prepared and cooked for quite some time to achieve that mouth-watering deliciousness. 

Don't forget to try Sheikh's satay too! The chicken satay was prep with perfection. All the spices definitely seep through the chicken meat and made it taste so enticing. Not to mention, succulent and juicy! 

For the month of Ramadan,  Kafe Sarawak Johor offers an Iftar buffet from the 9th of April until the 2nd of May of 2022. Start serving at 6:30pm until 9:30pm. Below is the rate for the Kafe Sarawak Johor Ramadan buffet. 

Adults = RM48.90

Children (under 6 years old) = 50% discount from the adult rate
Above 10 pax = RM450 

I truly enjoyed my Iftar with my husband and got to experience a whole new taste of Sarawak and also Johor delicacies at Kafe Sarawak Johor. While enjoying your meal, you will be serenading to the melodic piano tune played by legendary pianist, Ross Ariffin. 

So there you go, head on to Kafe Sarawak Johor and enjoy your iftar with friends and family with the beautiful night lights of the city at Kafe Sarawak Johor.
