As you all know, I'm crazy about skincare products and I love to share around with you any great products that are affordable yet effective on your skin.

Recently, I've heard so much about this amazing Korean skincare that got so many great reviews and I am intrigued to try it out myself to what's all the hyped about?  It's a brand called ONE THING. Have you heard about it? Their extract toners received a lot of significant exceptional commentaries from all over the world consumers. 

ONE THING is a K-beauty brand that is currently fairly popular in Korea, China, Hong Kong, the USA, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and now in Malaysia.  ONE THING removes unnecessary costs and suggests 100% plant-based only ingredient and animal tests free products that your skin needs.

It is a 100% vegetable product using only EWG grade 1 raw material and does not use any chemical additives other than materials. ONE THING supports consumers' right to know and aims to help consumers to make reasonable consumption.

This really attracts me more to try out their products. Their best-reviewed products are Artemisia Capillaris Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Hyaluronic Acid 1% and Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract. 

Reading all the reviews, unquestionably I really wanted to try out the Centella Asiatica Extract and Artemisia Capillaris Extract. Hence, I ordered and bought the two items at Threebs.co. 

Before that, do you know why is toner important for your skin?

Hope my explanation helps you! Now let me share with you about ONE THING  that I've got!

Upon receiving the products, which was well-packed by Threebs.co. I was excited to unbox their packaging. The 1st impression I got is that the packaging is really adorable and medicinal-like.

The white card box that these come in all look the same, except for the text at the back. They are all in clear plastic bottles with a minimalistic screw top and stickers front and back. They come sealed with a sticker over the lid as well as a foil sticker over the hole. It's simple yet elegant and stylish in a way.

Centella Asiatica Extract

ONE THING Centella Asiatica Extract is made from pure extract of Centella Asiatica plant that has excellent effects such as benefits of soothing, repairing and hydrating your skin. It has been used for various skin diseases since about 3,000 years ago and It’s an ingredient that goes into premium regenerative cream. Which is rich in amino acids, beta carotene, fatty acids, and phytochemicals for the skin, including powerful anti-aging properties, 

Centella is an excellent antibacterial plant for wound healing, scars, and skin disease. Skin-soothing & regenerative effect. Hinder inflammation, soothe & rejuvenate your skin. This product can be used on all skin types and is effective for acne, damaged, and sensitive skin.

It also sustains faster wounds and scars healing. It stimulates collagen synthesis, improves skin elasticity, and promotes blood circulation. Its anti-inflammatory usefulness calms skin irritation, redness and also strengthen the skin’s protective barrier.

Centella Asiatica Extract has gained so much popularity in the Western world in skincare, but it has been used for many years in Korea. It is known for its gentle and soothing properties, its ability to revitalise and hydrate the skin. You may have also heard its other name as Tiger Grass.

My Review

This extract scents slightly herbal but yet it is so calming. You can use this as a toner with a cotton pad and just swipe, but I like to soak cotton pads with this extract and put it on my irritated areas and let that sit for about 5 minutes. It soothes any flaming sensation and any stinging sensation immediately. I love using this method every day in the morning when I feel my skin super dry or inflamed by acne.  

I also used this as a spot treatment every 2 days or if any new acne spot appears. For some, the scent might be a bit overpowering but you'll get used to it. 

Artemisia Capillaris Extract

Ingredients: Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Water, 1,2-Hexanediol

ONE THING Artemisia Capillaris Extract which also known as Artemisia princeps, or a more familiar name called Mugwort is extracted from Gangwha-do, a medicinal plant known and used for centuries in Korean culture to treat inflammatory and hepatic disorders.

Made with pure 100% extract of Artemisia princeps (Mugwort) that helps soothe and balance skin with anti-inflammatory effects that calms skin irritation and redness. It helps to discharge the toxins of the skin and assists skin imperfections such as blemishes and freckles. 

It is rich in vitamins A, C, niacin and various minerals to improve cellular function, protects skin cells from sun damage, and evens out skin tone. Strengthen skin’s protective barrier, improve skin dryness and strengthen the skin barrier, revitalising the skin back to a healthy condition. 

My Review

Personally, I think this one and Centella Asiatica Extract are really quite similar and you could actually go with either one of these. I would say the  Centella Asiatica Extract is more of a famous product because it is more studied or tested for its benefits and efficacy. The texture, colour and scent of this are also really similar to the Centella Asiatica Extract as well.

How To Use

Usage: 

As the first step of skincare, apply the extract to the cotton pad and moisture your skin or Put it in the mist container and spray them from time to time

Compound Usage: Use your DIY cosmetics

1. Combine 5-10% or more into used cosmetics (Skin, Lotion, Cream, etc).

2. Combine two or more extracts

(Example: Artemisia Capillaris Extract 80% + Centella Extract 20%)

Utilize as a Pack

Apply a large amount of extract to the cotton pad and put them on like a pack, on the part that needs intensive care (Forehead, Cheeks, Chin, etc) for 5-10 minutes

Final Review

My skin felt really hydrated and soothed every time I use these products and in the long run, I can see my inflamed areas (jawline) have calmed down significantly. I can feel the immediate soothing effects of the Centella Asiatica Extract when I apply it over my face. My skin doesn’t feel stinging. Although I feel it helps, the redness does take a little time to reduce. 

All of these extracts are so water-light I have no problems with layering these products on a daily basis.

And as I mentioned before, the scent is a bit herbal-like and may not be to one liking but you know that is naturally made, so the scent is pure herbal without any added fragrance.
