My Short Staycation in Selangor

How have you’ve been? I hope everyone is doing great ! Well since the MCO has been lifted and we can now travel in between districts and are able to travel more than 2 people in one vehicle. Hence its time for me to bring my kids out to enjoy some fresh air, and yes of course strictly following the S.O.P . We wouldn't want a new cluster to begin again right ?!
Let's make this a simple review then ya ?!
INTRODUCTION :-
Hotel : Best Western I-City Shah Alam, Selangor ( 3.5 star hotel)
Stay duration : 2 days 1 night
Date : 28th February 2021 , Saturday
Price : RM199 nett ( under Hotel’s website promotion for 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗡•𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗢𝗡•𝗧𝗜𝗗𝗨𝗥 )
Deposit : None
Pax : Family of 4 ( 2 Adults and 2 Children 5yo and 2yo )
For your information, I’ve already planned this trip a month before the 1st MCO this year just to celebrate my son’s A’isy Zafran’s 5th birthday. Thankfully when the planned date comes, we are able to travel and enjoy our short “staycation” for 2 days 1 night at Best Western I-City, Shah Alam.
Why did I choose this hotel? 1st of all, I’ve heard so many great reviews about this hotel's services, amazing food and of course the nearby attractions around the hotel. Just so you know, the hotel is located inside the I-City vicinity. Plus, I bought the special promotion by Best Western I-City Shah Alam.
PARKING
You have to enter the I-City entrance to enable you to get to the hotel area. There was plenty of parking space.You can either park in the open space outside or you can choose to park inside the hotel parking.
No worries for the parking fees though, if you are staying in the hotel, you’ll get free parking but do make sure that you stamped your parking ticket at the front desk. But the parking is still affordable and accessible for non-patrons too!
SECURITY
24 hours Full Security. Even Though you do not park inside the hotel, your car is still secured inside the I-City vicinity.
LOBBY
You’ll see the nicely landscaped front entrance of the hotel. Before entering, make sure to scan and follow the S.O.P. Once you’ve stepped into the lobby, you’ll be awestruck with the beautiful decorations designed in the lobby.
CHECK-INS
Greeted by welcoming and professional front desk crews. I was immediately checked-in as I’ve already made full payment online with NO deposit needed. Everything went smoothly and fast.
ROOM
👉Deluxe Room - with King size bed.
- Room was spacious and clean.
👉Amenities
- Water kettle, Drinking Glass, Hair Dryer, Save deposit, Iron and ironing board , Mini Fridge and Bottled Mineral water.
👉Flat TV
- Cable or satellite television, CNN® or other 24 hour news station
👉Single Sofa Chair and Table top.
➤ I did request for a baby cot but they offered me an extra bed with no extra cost instead. Yeay ~!
BATHROOM
👉Shower.
👉Spacious and Clean
👉Safety bar / rails in shower available
👉Toiletries ( Shampoo, Bath Gel, Bar Soap, Shower Cap, Cottonbuds, Toothbrush and Toothpaste) , Tissue and Sanitary bag provided.
👉Clean Towels.
WIFI
👉In-Room FREE wifi but the signal was quite weak. So I have to use my mobile data instead.
FACILITIES
👉24 hour Concierge , Gym, Playground, Children's activities , Swimming Pool
➤ But sadly because it was still in the RMCO, these activities are off limits for everyone’s safety.

FOOD
➤ DINNER
Since dinner was included with my package, we can choose the menu 1st and will be sent whenever we choose. You can dine-in at the restaurant or in your room. We choose to dine in our room and the best thing is the dinner includes 2 of my children too.
I forgot to take a picture of the menu but we chose a Baked Salmon and Grilled Chicken Chop set. For the kids, we chose a Bolognese Spaghetti and Chicken Sandwich set.
My verdict : OUTSTANDINGLY FLAVOURSOME !! ! If I had to comment, maybe the Chicken Sandwich can improve a little bit. A bit dry on the chicken but for the others, Superb !!

➤ BREAKFAST
Complimentary full breakfast, choice of breads, cereal, fruit, hot eggs, hot breakfast meat, other hot items, yogurt, juice, and coffee..
Dined in the cafe, staff was friendly and efficient.
Foods are still ala-carte but you can order as much as you like
👉Kids had Fruit Loops cereal and Scramble Eggs. We tried the Nasi Lemak, Fried Mee, Western breakfast ( Hotdogs, Eggs of your choice and Beans)
👉The pastries are quite good too ! I had the croissant and Chocolate Danish.
My verdict : Highly recommended for you to eat the ‘Nasi Lemak’, it's very appetizing and delicious compared to other hotels I’ve gone to.
* Sorry there's no pictures of breakfast food as I totally forgotten about it . We were hungry and the food are just too appetizing to resist and wait ! haha

👉 I bought Best Western's hotel promotion for 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗡•𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗢𝗡•𝗧𝗜𝗗𝗨𝗥 for RM199 for a Deluxe room with King bed through Best Western Facebook page which includes :-
FREE room upgrades
FREE stay and eat for 2 children
COMPLIMENTARY Breakfast and Dinner for 2 adults.
FLEXIBLE CHECK IN time with 24 hours stay
FREE 24 hours movies with complimentary light snacks.
👉I checked in at about 4pm and was told that I can check out at 5pm the NEXT DAY ! Great right?
👉Initially I booked and planned this stay as mentioned is to celebrate my son’s 5th birthday and at 1st I had planned a small surprise ( balloon and cake) for him with the hotel but as I did a last minute confirmation, thus they couldn't prepare the decorations for A’isy. Miss Aishah who assisted me via email previously , called me to inform me of this and apologize on their behalf but they did give birthday treats for A’isy.

👉Food was shockingly Ah-Maz-Ing !
👉Overall Services shown by the hotel staff were Tip-Top and excellent !!
You can still walk around the area in daylight to take spectacular “Instagramable-worthy” pictures inside and outside the hotel !!
DOWNFALL
The only thing I’ve complained about was their coffee machine ( sorry for being a coffeeholic who needed her coffee fix every morning perfect 😁 ) and I did highlight this on the survey manually and online.
Got feedback from them that they will change to a new coffee machine by May. Hopefully they do as I am planning to come back to stay here once the attractions are open to the public once again.
Did Not complain about the Wifi as I was able to use my own mobile data but yes, they might want to improve on the connection.
I-City’s theme park and water park closed due to RMCO, hence we couldn’t really enjoy the amusement facilities there. NO beautiful night lights. I was a bit sad but understood the situation.
OVERALL : Very much Satisfied !
👉 I’ve enjoyed my stay here and would definitely love to come back and stay here again to enjoy the amusement park with my family.
VALUE : With the promotion price ?! TOTALLY WORTH IT !
WOULD I STAY AGAIN : A firm YES !!
RATING : 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✯!

Dah pernah nampak Hotel ni kat I City tapi tak pernah menginap sini. Mesti malam diterangi lampu warna warni kat I City ni. Nak pergi I City pun dekat je.
