Hello my dearest readers 💓
Have you tried any Halal Vietnamese foods before? I think no less than once or twice , an average of 7 out of 10 people had at least tried Vietnamese foods before. The most known food to be consumed for are definitely, Vietnamese Rolls. Am I right?
Well my dear fellow friends, believe it or not there are plenty of delicious flavoursome Halal Vietnamese foods available in Kuala Lumpur. And there’s specifically ONE restaurant that distinguish themselves than others.
Welcome to Rasa Viet by Xin Chao Vietnam at The Sphere, Bangsar Kuala Lumpur.
The Sphere is located in the midst of the uprising iconic Bangsar South district. An eminent residential area and its increased amenities and complexes surroundings.
Although there are arrays of restaurants in The Sphere itself, effectively Rasa Viet stands out from the rest with its beautiful decorations of bright yellow walls and blue windows and doors.A classier version of an eatery that reminds you of Vietnam.
The interior was designed with stunning classic Vietnam knick-knacks and with different sizes of red lanterns hanging over the ceilings which is I might say ‘instaworthy’. I was there with my spouse and kids and the ambience was warm and inviting, it really sets the mood of relaxation and calming vibe.

A welcoming warmth from the owner / chef and engaging staff. The owner is so easy-going and friendly that he had personally explained to me and my husband every single detail about the food that he had prepared for us. Mind you, he also willingly helped me to wrap my ‘bánh xèo tôm gà’ later on . It’s a wrap sizzling pancake with chicken and shrimp with other ingredients, mainly vegetables.
Rasa Viet serves No Pork, Lard or Alcohol, No Animal Brush is used in the Preparation or Cooking Process. Meat & Food products are procured from Halal Certified Suppliers . You can check all the Halal Certification at their official website https://www.rasaviet.com/about-halal
And worry not my dear Vegetarian fellow friends, Rasa Viet does serve abundant vegetarian eatables for you to enjoy too ~!
For starters, I had the assorted spring rolls set that consist of Summer Rolls, Fried Rolls and 2 types of Fried-Netted Rolls - Mayonnaise Prawn and Sweet Potato and Yams. My kids love the Fried-Netted Rolls Sweet Potato and Yams so much that they’ve asked for refills. Lol. The crunchiness and sweetness combination of the ingredients is completely delectable !!
Next we had the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken, the chicken is not too overpowered by the lemongrass taste and the meat is very juicy and tender. Again, another new found favourite by my kids !~
We tried the Mango Salad with Prawn served with yummy prawn crackers. This is my first time eating a Mango Salad with crackers. Usually I’ll just have them with plain white rice. It’s so savoury that the combinations will blow your mind !! Figuratively speaking !~
Then there is the Vietnamese sizzling pancake of chicken and prawn, that also comes presented with an additional salad on one side… As well as several sheets of rice paper. Although mine was made by Mr.Dennis. But all you need to do is quickly wet the rice paper in the bowl of water provided until it softens, add some prefered salad or leaves and then just add on the pancake and just start rolling. And Walahhhh, rolls are ready to be eaten !~ A simple yet healthy and delicious food in a roll.
A Vietnamese meal is never complete without trying out the Pho basically known as noodles soup, which is a popular street food in Vietnam. Normally made with clear broth, rice noodles, herbs and poultry of any sorts.
The Rasa Viet menu has an entire section of Pho, ranging from seafood to vegetarian as well as the more traditional meat, chicken and my favourite, SMOKED DUCK! I had the classic Beef Pho of steak and meatballs and my husband ordered the Smoked Duck Pho.
The right way to appreciate and enjoy your Pho is by tasting the broth first without mixing any condiments yet. Unquestionably you can taste the essence of the meat that was cooked and simmered for more than 10 hours or more with natural ingredients and spices and you can definitely tell there is no MSG added.
After you savour the broth, then only you add in the basil and bean sprouts. Enhance it together with two sauces – Chilli Fish Sauce (I think) and specially made Garlic Vinegar… There are additional sauces, a mixture of hoisin, chilli and sambal for dipping or you can mix it all up for an extra spicy kick!
So after all that pleasurable luscious meals, ultimately one MUST try their Traditional Caramel Pudding. My gosh! The texture is so smooth and creamy. No eggy smell or taste. Perfect caramelized sugar, a hint of bitter at the end of your palate. Undeniably an amazing way to end your mouth-watering feast at Rasa Viet.
They do have another dessert - ‘Fried Jackfruit Cempedak with Coconut Ice Cream’ but we were too full to eat any more food. It will be in our bucket list for the next visit.
Oh I forgot to mention that I had the famous Vietnamese Drip Coffee with Milk for my drink but I was so caught up with the delicious meals served that I totally forgot to take a picture of the special coffee. Not to worry you can check out the pictures on the Rasa Viet website later and my husband had the Boiled Lemongrass Ginger, mind you to be prepared for some ‘wind’ clearing later. Lol.
You may wonder if Rasa Viet prices are hefty or would burn a hole in your wallet? Nope !! Despite the high quality and awesome flavourful foods, plush and stylish surroundings, the dining here is actually quite reasonably indeed.
